There's a word for everything - everything

Did you know that there is a word for everything? Every little thing that you've experienced, right down to the odd moment where you suddenly recall a memory that makes you laugh - there's a word for that!


This large collection of words are most likely not in your routine vocabulary, but, there's a good chance you have experienced, thought about or feel their meaning. Make a cup of tea, and let me tell you a few of my favourite ones!



 

Querencia

(n.) a place from which one's strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you are your most authentic self


Petrichor per|ri|chor

(n.) the wonderful smell in the air after it's been raining


Bibliosmia

(n.) the smell or aroma of a good book


Irusu

(n.) pretending to be out when someone knocks on the door


Reverie

(n.) a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream

(n.) the rush or the inexplicable joy one feels after seeing or experiencing something romantic
